FFCH Urology — 40 years of carefully building the brand

Urology is one of the “Three Treasures of Chancheng” — the clinic's three flagship brands, alongside spinal orthopedics and the maternity and child center. The kidney-stone brand and the prostate brand — leading positions in the Foshan region. The urologic-oncology brand is developing rapidly. 2 inpatient departments, 4 main areas.

01
Kidney stones
A leading brand in the region. Flexible ureteroscopic holmium lithotripsy and percutaneous nephrolithotomy. Removal of stones in any location without incisions.

Answers to the key questions

How are kidney stones treated at FFCH?
The main method is flexible ureteroscopic holmium lithotripsy: a thin flexible endoscope is inserted through the urethra and a laser breaks up the stone without incisions. More than 3,200 successful operations. The scientific achievement received Foshan's second prize in science and technology. For large stones — percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL). The choice of method depends on the stone's size, composition and location.
How is Da Vinci better than conventional surgery for prostate cancer?
Da Vinci Xi robotic prostatectomy has several advantages over open surgery: minimal incisions (5–6 ports instead of a large incision), better visualization of the nerve bundles — reducing the risk of urinary incontinence and erectile dysfunction, less blood loss, discharge in 2–3 days. FFCH has performed over 200 Da Vinci operations for cancer of the prostate, bladder and kidney.
What is HoLEP laser enucleation of the prostate?
HoLEP (holmium laser enucleation of the prostate) is the gold standard for treating BPH when the gland is large. All the enlarged tissue is removed through the urethra without incisions. More thorough tissue removal than classic TURP, with less blood loss. Especially important for elderly patients and those at high risk — FFCH has performed nearly 400 such operations.
Is hospitalization needed to treat kidney stones?
It depends on the method. With flexible ureteroscopy — 1–2 days in hospital; the operation takes 30–90 minutes under general anesthesia. With extracorporeal lithotripsy (ESWL), outpatient treatment is possible. With percutaneous nephrolithotomy — 3–5 days. The specific method and timelines are determined by the FFCH urology board after reviewing your scans.
