For a long time, when it came to treatment abroad, China stood in the shadow of Germany, Korea and Israel. That has changed: leading Chinese hospitals run on equipment from Germany, the USA and Japan, perform robotic surgery, precise radiation therapy and cell-based methods — while keeping a unique feature no one else has: a synthesis of Western precision medicine and traditional Chinese medicine under one roof.
This material is prepared by the official representative of Foshan Fosun Chancheng Hospital (FFCH) — a top-category Grade III Class A state hospital that has ranked first among China's private hospitals for 8 years running. We tell it honestly: what China can really do, how it all works, and where the limits are.
Important from the outset: we are not an aggregator or a catalog of fifteen clinics. Meridélite is the direct representative of one specific clinic. That means your documents go straight to the doctors, and payment goes directly to the hospital's account, with no intermediary between you and the medicine.
Why people go to China for treatment
There are several reasons, and they're concrete — not "it's cheaper there," but access to what isn't available at home.
Access to innovative medicines
FFCH is the first medical institution in Foshan to gain status in the state "Hong Kong and Macao Medicine and Equipment Connect" program. Through it, the clinic uses dozens of innovative medicines and medical devices unavailable in most countries. For cancer and other serious diagnoses, this sometimes means access to therapy that simply doesn't exist in your country.
Precision and technology
Precise radiation therapy and radiosurgery with sub-millimeter accuracy, Da Vinci Xi robotic surgery, orthopedic robots and 3D-printed patient-specific implants, cell therapy (CAR-T) — all of this is used at FFCH within a single professors' board, not in a fragmented way.
Synthesis with traditional Chinese medicine
This is what Western clinics don't have. After high-tech treatment — surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy — the same clinic offers recovery through traditional Chinese medicine under state-level masters. Western precision plus Eastern restoration of the body's reserves.
Which specialties are treated in China
Below are the main FFCH specialties. Each has its own detailed page.
Oncology
Precise diagnostics (PET-CT), CyberKnife radiosurgery, robotic surgery, immunotherapy and targeted therapy, access to Hong Kong–Macao program medicines. The method and plan are always set by the medical board.
Orthopedics
One of the clinic's "three treasures": TiRobot robotic navigation for the spine, 3D-printed patient-specific implants, joint replacement. Especially valuable in complex anatomy and revision surgery.

Cardiology
Heart valve replacement without open surgery (TAVR, TEER), stenting, arrhythmia treatment, national stroke and chest-pain centers.
Childbirth and the mother & child center
Another FFCH "treasure": 60 years of experience, high-risk pregnancy care, care for premature infants, premium accommodation in the Magnolia Building.
Traditional Chinese medicine
Acupuncture, herbal therapy, Tian Jiu therapy under state-level masters. Infertility treatment, recovery after surgery and stroke, work with chronic conditions.

Gynecology and urology
Da Vinci robotic surgery for fibroids, endometriosis and gynecologic oncology; urology is a flagship brand of the clinic with a 40-year history (kidney stones, prostate cancer, HoLEP).
Check-ups and diagnostics
Comprehensive examination programs — from a basic panel to high-precision cancer screening. You can come just for diagnostics or a second opinion.
How treatment works for an international patient
The path from the first message to returning home is built step by step — that is the point of the support.
1. Document review and a protocol in 48 hours
You send your medical documents — records, test results and original scans in DICOM format. The FFCH professors' board reviews the case and within 48 hours prepares a personal treatment protocol with a precise estimate.
2. Visa and arrival
The clinic issues a medical invitation and helps with the visa for the patient and a companion and with choosing a flight. Meet-and-greet at Guangzhou airport, transfer to the clinic.
3. Treatment and support
Treatment is led by a specialist team under a single board. Medical interpreters at every stage. Accommodation, including in the premium Magnolia Building.
4. Returning home
You receive a full set of documents in a clear language for your doctor at home, recovery recommendations and remote follow-up.
What it costs and how payment works
The honest answer: there is no single figure. The cost depends on the diagnosis, method, length of hospital stay and rehabilitation. Anyone who quotes an exact price without seeing the documents is giving a "market average," not your real estimate.
At FFCH, after reviewing the documents, you receive a personal estimate within 48 hours. A key principle, and this is the trust node: payment goes directly to the clinic's account, not through the representative. The hospital receives the money for treatment.
- International bank transfers (SWIFT) via Bank of China and ICBC, as well as VISA and MasterCard
- A deposit is paid to issue the invitation; any unused part is refunded
- For long-term treatment, payment can be made in stages
- Official invoices and itemized statements of expenses
Transparency is a matter of principle here: direct payment to the clinic and no intermediary in the money chain — that is what sets treatment at one clinic apart from "medical tourism through an agent."
Why FFCH specifically
Foshan Fosun Chancheng Hospital is a top-category Grade III Class A state hospital, founded in 1958, the flagship of the Fosun Health network. Eight years running in first place among China's private hospitals. Nearly 1,750 beds and about 3 million patient visits a year.
Here the high-tech specialties — oncology, orthopedics, cardiology, the mother & child center — work together with traditional Chinese medicine under a single professors' board. Premium accommodation in the separate Magnolia Building — private suites, not hospital wards.
A direct representative, not an intermediary
In search results for "treatment in China" you mostly find aggregators — catalogs offering a choice of dozens of clinics and a "free quote." That's a different model. Ours is a direct official contract with one #1 clinic.
What this gives you: documents reach the FFCH doctors directly without losing meaning; payment goes directly to the clinic with no markup; one responsible person at every stage, not a call center. And honesty — if FFCH isn't right for your case, you'll be told so directly.
